Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: One of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the ritual bath (ghusl) for janabah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to perform ablution with the water left over from it. She mentioned this to him (peace and blessings be upon him) (that it was the water left over from her bath), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Nothing makes water impure."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Imam Abu Dawud recorded this narration, but he did not record these words: "Nothing makes it impure."
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Imam al-Bazzar recorded from him this narration about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): He was about to perform ablution, when one of his wives said to him: I too performed ablution with this (water). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution with that water and said: Nothing makes water impure.
The narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).

Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Imam Ibn Majah recorded the hadith from that Companion, but with these words: "except for something that overpowers its smell, its taste or its colour."
The chain of this narration contains a narrator, Rishdin bin Sa'd, and he is da'if (weak).
