Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: One of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the ritual bath (ghusl) for janabah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to perform ablution with the water left over from it. She mentioned this to him (peace and blessings be upon him) (that it was the water left over from her bath), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Nothing makes water impure."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Imam Abu Dawud recorded this narration, but he did not record these words: "Nothing makes it impure."
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
