Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1068

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Nothing makes water impure, except for something that changes its smell or its taste."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Imam Ibn Majah recorded the hadith from that Companion, but with these words: "except for something that overpowers its smell, its taste or its colour."
The chain of this narration contains a narrator, Rishdin bin Sa'd, and he is da'if (weak).
