بَابٌ فِي ابْنِ الْأُخْتِ وَالْحَلِيفِ وَالْمَوْلَى .

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " حَلِيفٌ مِنْهُمْ ، وَمَوْلَى الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ ، وَابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ الْوَاقِدِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "An ally is one of the people (of the tribe), a freed slave is also one of them, and the sister's son of a people is also one of them."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains the narrator "al-Waqidi", and he is da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ " .

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The sister's son of a people is one of them."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Our freed slaves are also among us."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains the narrator Muslim bin Salim (according to one view his name is Maslamah bin Salim). Imam Abu Dawud declared him weak, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in his book al-Thiqat.

وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مَوْلَيَانِ : حَبَشِيٌّ وَقِبْطِيٌّ ، فَاسْتَبَّا يَوْمًا ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا : يَا حَبَشِيُّ ، وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : يَا قِبْطِيُّ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا تَقُولَا هَكَذَا ، إِنَّمَا أَنْتُمَا رَجُلَانِ مِنْ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ مُوَثَّقُونَ .

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had two slaves, one Abyssinian and one Copt. Once the two of them quarrelled, and one of them said: "O Abyssinian!" and the other said: "O Copt!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not speak like this, both of you! You are both men who belong to the family of (Sayyiduna) Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."

وَعَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ يَوْمًا لِقُرَيْشٍ : " هَلْ فِيكُمْ مَنْ لَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ ؟ " قَالُوا : ابْنُ أُخْتِنَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ . قَالَ : " ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ [ وَحَلِيفُ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ ] " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَهُوَ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ ، وَلَمْ أَرَ مَنْ ذَكَرَ عُتْبَةَ وَلَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَهُوَ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ ، وَلَمْ أَرَ مَنْ ذَكَرَ عُتْبَةَ وَلَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ .
Sayyiduna Utbah bin Ghazwan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the Quraysh: "Is there anyone among you who is not one of you?" They replied: "There is our sister's son, Utbah bin Ghazwan." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sister's son of a people is one of them (and the ally of a people is one of them)."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. This report was narrated by Utbah bin Ibrahim bin Utbah bin Ghazwan from his father, from Sayyiduna Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him), and I have not seen anyone mention Utbah (bin Ibrahim) or Ibrahim (bin Utbah bin Ghazwan).

وَعَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
