وَعَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَا أَخْشَى عَلَى قُرَيْشٍ إِلَّا أَنْفُسَهَا " . قُلْتُ : وَمَا هُوَ ؟ قَالَ : " أَشِحَّةٌ بَجَرَةٌ إِنْ طَالَ بِكَ عُمُرٌ رَأَيْتَهُمْ يَفْتِنُونَ النَّاسَ ، حَتَّى يُرَى النَّاسُ بَيْنَهُمْ كَالْغَنَمِ بَيْنَ الْحَوْضَيْنِ مَرَّةً إِلَى هَذَا وَمَرَّةً إِلَى هَذَا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I fear for Quraysh only from themselves." I asked: "What is that?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They will be miserly and big-bellied (that is, they will hoard wealth). If your life is long, you will see them putting other people to trial, until (other) people will appear among them (Quraysh) like a goat between two watering troughs, going sometimes this way and sometimes that way."
