Majma al-Zawaid 9269 — The lying ruler

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are three (kinds of) people whom Allah Almighty detests: a lying king (or ruler), an arrogant poor man, and a miserly rich man."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Yahya bin Abd al-Rahman al-Arhabi. The rest of the narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
