بَابٌ فِيمَنْ يُصَدِّقُ الْأُمَرَاءَ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَيُعِينُهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ .
One who affirms the lies of rulers and helps them in their oppression

وَعَنْ خَبَّابٍ قَالَ : كُنَّا قُعُودًا عِنْدَ بَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ : " أَتَسْمَعُونَ ؟ " قُلْنَا : قَدْ سَمِعْنَا - مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا - قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَلَا تُعِينُوهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ صَدَّقَهُمْ بِكَذِبِهِمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَى ظُلْمِهِمْ فَلَيْسَ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ خَبَّابٍ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .

Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were sitting by the door of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He came out to us and said: "Do you hear?" We said: "We are listening." This exchange took place two or perhaps three times. Then he said: "Soon rulers will come over you; do not affirm their lies and do not help them in their oppression, for whoever affirms their lies and helps them in their oppression will not come to me at the Pond."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Abdullah bin Khabbab, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
