وَعَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ - وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ - قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا لِلْخَلِيفَةِ بَعْدَكَ ؟ قَالَ : " مَا لِي ، مَا رَحِمَ ذَا الرَّحِمِ وَأَقْسَطَ فِي الْقِسْطِ وَعَدَلَ فِي الْقِسْمَةِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Tamim (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honour of being a Companion, narrates: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! What will the Caliph after you receive?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What I receive, as long as he shows mercy to the one deserving mercy, acts with equity, and is just in distribution."
