Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah bin Abd al-Mundhir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing the snakes that are found in houses, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every one of you is a guardian, and he will be called to account for his charge. The amir is the guardian of the people, and he will be called to account for his charge. A man is the guardian of his household, and he will be called to account for them. A man's wife is the guardian of her husband's house, and she will be called to account for it. A man's slave is the guardian of his master's wealth, and he will be called to account for it. Indeed, every one of you is a guardian, and every one of you will be called to account." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadith reported from Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him) is mentioned in the Sahih, containing only the prohibition of killing snakes.
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir are the narrators of the Sahih.
