بَابُ الْخِلَافَةِ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَالنَّاسُ تَبَعٌ لَهُمْ .

وَعَنْ ذِي مِخْبَرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " كَانَ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ فِي حِمْيَرَ فَنَزَعَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ ، فَجَعَلَهُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَفِي وَسَ يَ عُ و دُ إِ لَ يْ هِ مْ " .
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : كَذَا هُوَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي مُقَطَّعٌ ، وَحَيْثُ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ عَلَى الِاسْتِوَاءِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِاخْتِصَارِ الْحُرُوفِ ، وَرِجَالُهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ .
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : كَذَا هُوَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي مُقَطَّعٌ ، وَحَيْثُ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ عَلَى الِاسْتِوَاءِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِاخْتِصَارِ الْحُرُوفِ ، وَرِجَالُهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Dhu Mikhbar (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This matter (that is, government) was among Himyar; then Allah Almighty took it away from them and placed it among Quraysh, and it will soon return to them." Abdullah said: In my father's writing these words are recorded in the same way, letter by letter separately, but when he narrated this hadith to us, he would pronounce the whole sentence properly.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it with the letters abbreviated. Their narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
