بَابُ الْخِلَافَةِ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَالنَّاسُ تَبَعٌ لَهُمْ .

وَعَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لِقُرَيْشٍ : " إِنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ فِيكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ وُلَاتُهُ ، حَتَّى تُحْدِثُوا أَعْمَالًا ، فَإِذَا فَعَلْتُمْ ذَلِكَ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ شِرَارَ خَلْقِهِ ، فَالْتَحُوكُمْ كَمَا يُلْتَحَى الْقَضِيبُ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Quraysh: "This matter (that is, government) will be among you and you will be its custodians, until you introduce new (evil) deeds. When you do that, Allah Almighty will set the worst of His creation over you, and they will strip you just as a stick is stripped."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, except for al-Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abd al-Rahman bin al-Harith, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
