بَابُ مَا يُخَافُ عَلَى الْأُمَّةِ مِنْ زَلِّةِ الْعَالِمِ وَجِدَالِ الْمُنَافِقِ وَغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ .

وَعَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَكْثَرُ مَا أَتَخَوَّفُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي رَجُلٌ يَتَأَوَّلُ الْقُرْآنَ يَضَعُهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَوَاضِعِهِ ، وَرَجُلٌ يَرَى أَنَّهُ أَحَقُّ بِهَذَا الْأَمْرِ مِنْ غَيْرِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ .

Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What I fear most for my Ummah after me is a man who interprets the Qur'an and alters its meaning, and a man who considers himself more entitled to rule than others."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Isma'il bin Qays al-Ansari, who is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).
