Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 747

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The example of the one who acquires knowledge and then does not narrate it is like that of a person who amasses a treasure and does not spend from it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, and he is da'if (weak).
