Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7112

Sayyiduna Harmalah al-Anbari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Give me counsel." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep fearing Allah Almighty. When you are in a gathering and you get up from it, and then you hear those people saying something that pleases you, then do it; and when you hear them saying something that you dislike, then leave it."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
