Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a man set free six of his slaves, and he had no wealth other than these slaves. Then the man died. When news of this reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he cast lots among those slaves, declared two of them free and let four remain slaves.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Ali bin Zayd, whose narrations are hasan (good), though there is weakness in him; the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
