Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate: A man near death set free six of his slaves, and he had no wealth other than these slaves. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had lots cast, declared two of them free and let four remain slaves. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) is mentioned in the "Sahih".
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains al-Fayd bin Wathiq, who is a kadhdhab (liar).
