بَابٌ فِيمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
One who lies about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَعَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَكْذِبُوا عَلَيَّ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ كَذِبٌ عَلَيَّ كَكَذِبٍ عَلَى أَحَدٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ رِفَاعَةُ بْنُ الْهُرَيْرِ ، ضَعَّفَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَغَيْرُهُ .

Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not attribute lies to me, for attributing a lie to me is not like attributing a lie to anyone else (person)."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Rifa'ah bin al-Hurayr, whom Ibn Hibban and others declared da'if (weak).
