بَابٌ فِيمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .

وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَنْ حَدَّثَ عَنِّي حَدِيثًا كَذِبًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ ، وَهُوَ مُخْتَلَفٌ فِيهِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever deliberately narrates a false hadith on my authority should make his abode in Hell."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Shahr bin Hawshab, about whom there is disagreement.
