بَابٌ فِيمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
One who lies about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ الطَّبَرَانِيَّ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . وَلَا أَعْرِفُهُمَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ الطَّبَرَانِيَّ قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . وَلَا أَعْرِفُهُمَا .
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him prepare to take his particular seat in Hell."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that Imam al-Tabarani said: Ahmad narrated this hadith to us; he said: My father narrated this hadith to us. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I do not know these two narrators.
