بَابٌ فِيمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
One who lies about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا لِيَضِلَّ بِهِ النَّاسُ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . قُلْتُ : وَهُوَ عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ وَالنَّسَائِيِّ دُونَ قَوْلِهِ : " لِيَضِلَّ بِهِ النَّاسُ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . قُلْتُ : وَهُوَ عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ وَالنَّسَائِيِّ دُونَ قَوْلِهِ : " لِيَضِلَّ بِهِ النَّاسُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me in order to lead people astray by it, let him prepare to take his particular seat in Hell."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Imam al-Tirmidhi and Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) also recorded this narration, but without these words: "in order to lead people astray by it."
