بَابٌ فِيمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
One who lies about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَعَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَضْجَعًا مِنَ النَّارِ أَوْ بَيْتًا فِي جَهَنَّمَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَرَجُلٌ لَمْ يُسَمَّ .

Sayyiduna Qays bin Sa'd bin Ubadah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: "Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him prepare to take his place of lying down in the Fire (that is, Hell) (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the words are:) his house in Hell."
