Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: "Whatever prophet Allah Almighty sent, he was young (at the time of being sent), and whatever scholar was given knowledge, he was young (at that time) (that is, knowledge is what is acquired in youth)."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Qabus bin Abi Zabyan. According to one report Yahya bin Ma'in declared him thiqah (trustworthy), and according to another he declared him da'if (weak). Ibn Adi says: I hope there is no harm in him. Imam Ahmad declared this narrator da'if (weak).
