وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، حَدِّثْنَا عَنْ أَعْمَارِ أُمَّتِكَ ؟ قَالَ : " مَا بَيْنَ الْخَمْسِينَ إِلَى السِّتِّينَ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَأَبْنَاءُ السَّبْعِينَ ؟ قَالَ : " قَلَّ مَنْ يَبْلُغُهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي ، رَحِمَ اللَّهُ أَبْنَاءَ السَّبْعِينَ ، وَرَحِمَ اللَّهُ أَبْنَاءَ الثَّمَانِينَ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَطَرٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell us about the lifespans of your Ummah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They will be between 50 and 60 years. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! And those who are seventy years old? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Few of my Ummah will reach that age. May Allah Almighty have mercy on those who are seventy years old, and may Allah Almighty have mercy on those who are eighty years old.
