وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَقَلُّ أُمَّتِي الَّذِينَ يَبْلُغُونَ السَّبْعِينَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، قُلْتُ : لَعَلَّهُ " التِّسْعِينَ " . فَإِنَّ هَذَا مِنَ النُّسْخَةِ الَّتِي كَتَبْتُ مِنْهَا لَمْ تُقَابَلْ . وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Few of my Ummah will reach seventy years."
Al-Tabarani recorded it.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Perhaps the correct word in the narration is "90 years", for the copy we have, from which this was copied, has not been collated; and Allah knows best.
