❖ Question
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Can a menstruating woman give Ghusl to a deceased woman?
❖ Answer
Yes, she can perform the Ghusl.
Evidence:
Umm al-Mu’minin ʿAishah al-Siddiqah (رضي الله عنها) said:
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to lean his head into the mosque while in I’tikaf, and I would wash his head while I was in a state of menstruation.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Menstruation, Chapter: Physical Contact with a Menstruating Woman)
✿ Key Point:
Since a menstruating woman is allowed to perform acts such as washing the Prophet’s (ﷺ) head, she is also permitted to bathe a deceased woman. Menstruation does not prevent her from carrying out such duties.
