عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : " أَطْعَمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْخَيْلِ ، وَنَهَانَا عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحَمِيرِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) allowed us to eat horse meat (i.e., he permitted it) and forbade the meat of donkeys.
