عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَتْ : قَدِمَتْ عَلَيَّ أُمِّي وَهِيَ مُشْرِكَةٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ قُرَيْشٍ ، إِذْ عَاهَدُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَاسْتَفْتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ : إِنَّ أُمِّيَ قَدِمَتْ عَلَيَّ وَهِيَ مُشْرِكَةٌ رَاغِبَةٌ أَفَأَصِلُهَا ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَمْ ، صِلِي أُمَّكِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them) that when the Quraysh had authority in Makkah, during that time my polytheist mother came to visit me while the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was ongoing. I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for a ruling: My mother is a polytheist and wishes to meet me; can I meet her? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, meet your mother."
