Hadith 377

عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : مَا كَانَ أَبُوكَ يَقُولُ إِذَا رَكِبَ الدَّابَّةَ ؟ قَالَ : كَانَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا مِنْ رِزْقِكَ وَمِنْ عَطَائِكَ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ رَبَّنَا عَلَى نِعْمَتِكَ سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ " .
Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked the son of Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him), "When your father used to mount his ride, what would he say?" He replied: He used to say, "O Allah! This is Your provision and Your gift. O Lord! All praise is due to You for Your blessing. (Glory be to the One Who has subjected this to us, though we were not able to control it.)"
