It has passed before, with this addition: When that reached Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: "Ah, Ibn Umm al-Fadl! He is indeed one who dives deep after subtle faults."

Abd al-Rahman bin Mahdi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) about the hadith of Asim concerning the female apostate, and he said: This narration is not from a trustworthy narrator.
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب المرتد / 16870
Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: There is disagreement concerning the female apostate. Some people's evidence is the narration of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that she is to be imprisoned and not killed. Some of those who hold this view spoke with me while a group of the scholars of hadith were present with us, so we asked them about this hadith, and I do not know of a single one of them who held back from saying: This is a mistake, and the one who narrated it is not among those whose hadith the people of hadith accept as established. Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Some have narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he killed women who had apostatised from Islam, so why was that not adopted?
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب المرتد / 16871
Khalid bin Yazid bin Abi Malik al-Dimashqi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: My father told me that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) killed a woman named Umm Qirfah for apostasy.

Sa'id bin Abd al-Aziz al-Tanukhi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A woman named Umm Qirfah fell into apostasy. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked her to repent; she refused, so he (may Allah be pleased with him) had her killed.
Imam al-Layth (may Allah have mercy on him) said: That is what we have heard, and it is my view. Ibn Wahb said: Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said the same to me. Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We could not use it as evidence, since it is weak according to the scholars of hadith. The Shaykh said: Its weakness lies in its being disconnected (munqati'), and we have narrated it through two mursal routes.
