أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أنا الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنا مَالِكٌ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْحَرَشِيُّ، نا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، نا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ وَأَصْبَحَتْ عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ لَهَا: " لَيْسَ بِكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ هَوَانٌ، إِنْ شِئْتِ سَبَّعْتُ عِنْدَكِ وَسَبَّعْتُ عِنْدَهُنَّ، وَإِنْ شِئْتِ ثَلَّثْتُ ثُمَّ دُرْتُ "، قَالَتْ: ثَلِّثْ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ الشَّافِعِيِّ: " ثَلَّثْتُ عِنْدَكِ وَدُرْتُ "، قَالَتْ: ثَلِّثْ رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ.
Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and spent the morning with her, he said: "You are not held in low esteem by your family. If you wish, I will spend seven days with you, and with the other wives as well; and if you wish, (I will spend) three days, after which I will go round." She said: "Make it three days." In the narration of Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him): "I will spend three days with you, then go round." She said: "Three days."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْحَرَشِيُّ، نا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، نا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ⦗٤٩١⦘ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ أَخَذَتْ بِثَوْبِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنْ شِئْتِ زِدْتُكِ وَحَاسَبْتُكِ بِهِ، لِلْبِكْرِ سَبْعٌ وَلِلثَّيِّبِ ثَلَاثٌ " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنِ الْقَعْنَبِيِّ هَكَذَا رَوَيَاهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ مُرْسَلًا، وَرَوَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ مَوْصُولًا.
Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), he went in to her, and when he intended to leave, she took hold of his (peace and blessings be upon him) garment. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you wish, I will spend more days with you and count them against you: for a virgin seven days, and for a previously married woman three days."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، نا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ اللَّخْمِيُّ، نا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، نا مُسَدَّدٌ، ح قَالَ: وَأنا ابْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ح قَالَ: وَأنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، نا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالُوا: نا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، نا الثَّوْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَهَا أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ، وَقَالَ إِنَّهُ: " لَيْسَ بِكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ هَوَانٌ فَإِنْ شِئْتِ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ وَإِنْ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ سَبَّعْتُ لِنِسَائِي " قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ: لَمْ يَرْوِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مُجَوَّدَ الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ إِلَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ، قَالَ الشَّيْخُ: رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ يَحْيَى، وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ أَيْمَنَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْصُولًا.
Abd al-Malik bin Abi Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (may Allah have mercy on him) that he narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that after marrying her, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed with her for three days and said: "You are not held in low esteem by your family. If you wish, I will complete seven days (with you), and I will give the other wives seven days as well."
Sulayman (al-Tabarani) (may Allah have mercy on him) said: No one narrated this hadith from Sufyan with a sound, connected chain except Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ وَأَبُو أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَا: نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ، نا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ نا حَفْصٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ أَيْمَنَ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا ذَكَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَزَوَّجَهَا وَذَكَرَ أَشْيَاءَ هَذَا فِيهِ قَالَ: " إِنْ شِئْتِ أَنْ أُسَبِّعَ لَكِ وَأُسَبِّعَ لِنِسَائِي، وَإِنْ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ سَبَّعْتُ لِنِسَائِي " هَكَذَا أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ.
Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman bin al-Harith bin Hisham narrates from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her, and he mentioned various things in it; he said: "If you wish, I will stay with you for seven days, and I will stay with the other wives for seven days as well."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، نا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، ح وَأنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ، أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، نا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ، نا رَوْحٌ، نا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، نا حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْحَمِيدِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، وَالْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، أَخْبَرَاهُ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ⦗٤٩٢⦘ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ يُخْبِرُ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا لَمَّا قَدِمَتِ الْمَدِينَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُمْ أَنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ فَكَذَّبُوهَا، وَيَقُولُونَ: مَا أَكْذَبَ الْغَرَائِبَ، حَتَّى أَنْشَأَ نَاسٌ مِنْهُمْ فِي الْحَجِّ فَقَالُوا: تَكْتُبِينَ إِلَى أَهْلِكِ، فَكَتَبَتْ مَعَهُمْ فَرَجَعُوا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَصَدَّقُوهَا فَازْدَادَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ كَرَامَةً، قَالَتْ: فَلَمَّا وَضَعْتُ زَيْنَبَ جَاءَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَطَبَنِي فَقُلْتُ: مَا مِثْلِي تُنْكَحُ، أَمَّا أَنَا فَلَا وَلَدَ فِيَّ، وَأَنَا غَيُورٌ ذَاتُ عِيَالٍ، فَقَالَ: " أَنَا أَكْبَرُ مِنْكِ، وَأَمَّا الْغَيْرَةُ فَيُذْهِبُهَا اللهُ، وَأَمَّا الْعِيَالُ فَإِلَى اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ " فَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَجَعَلَ يَأْتِيهَا فَيَقُولُ: " كَيْفَ زُنَابُ؟ أَيْنَ زُنَابُ؟ " فَجَاءَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ فَاخْتَلَجَهَا فَقَالَ: هَذِهِ تَمْنَعُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَتْ تُرْضِعُهَا فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " أَيْنَ زُنَابُ؟ " فَقَالَتْ قُرَيْبَةُ ابْنَةُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ وَوَافَقَهَا عِنْدَهَا: أَخَذَهَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنِّي آتِيكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ "، قَالَتْ: فَوَضَعْتُ ثِقَالِي، وَأَخْرَجْتُ حَبَّاتٍ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ وَكَانَتْ فِي جَرٍّ - وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ: فِي جَرِيبٍ - وَأَخْرَجْتُ شَحْمًا فَعَصَدْتُهُ فَبَاتَ ثُمَّ أَصْبَحَ فَقَالَ حِينَ أَصْبَحَ: " إِنَّ لَكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ كَرَامَةً فَإِنْ شِئْتِ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ، وَإِنْ أُسَبِّعْ أُسَبِّعْ لِنِسَائِي ".
Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman bin al-Harith bin Hisham said that Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) informed him that when she came to Madinah, (people) were told that she was the daughter of Abu Umayyah bin al-Mughirah, but they disbelieved it. They said: How much these strangers lie! Then some of them set out for Hajj, and they said: Will you write to your family? So she wrote (a letter) with them. When they returned to Madinah, they confirmed it, and she rose further in honour and standing. She said: When I gave birth to Zaynab, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) proposed marriage to me. I said: Someone like me is not married; I will bear no more children, and I am very jealous and have dependents. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am older than you; as for jealousy, Allah will remove it; and as for the dependents, they are (the concern) of Allah and His Messenger." He (peace and blessings be upon him) married her. When he came to her, he would say: "How is Zunab? Where is Zunab?" Then Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) came and snatched the (baby girl) away, saying: This one is keeping the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) away. She used to nurse her. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and asked: "Where is Zunab?" Quraybah bint Abi Umayyah, who was with her, said: Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) has taken her. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will come to you tonight." (Umm Salamah) said: I set up my hand mill and took out some grains of barley that were in a jar (and in the narration of Abu Abdullah: in a sack), and I took out some fat and made 'asidah with it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) spent the night, and in the morning he said: "You are honoured by your family. If you wish, I will spend seven days with you; and if I spend seven days (with you), I will spend seven days with the other wives as well."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَا: نا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ قَالَا: ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أنا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: " إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الْبِكْرَ عَلَى الثَّيِّبِ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا سَبْعًا، وَإِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الثَّيِّبَ عَلَى الْبِكْرِ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثًا " وَلَوْ قُلْتَ إِنَّهُ رَفَعَهُ صَدَقْتَ وَلَكِنَّهُ قَالَ: السُّنَّةُ كَذَلِكَ، رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى، وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ.
Abu Qilabah narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): "When you marry a virgin while having a previously married wife, stay with her seven days; and when you marry a previously married woman while having a virgin wife, stay with her three days." If I were to say that he narrated it as marfu' (from the Prophet), I would be speaking the truth, because he calls it the Sunnah.
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ اللَّخْمِيُّ، نا إِسْحَاقُ هُوَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عِيسَى، نا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، نا أَيُّوبُ السَّخْتِيَانِيُّ، وَخَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: " مِنَ السُّنَّةِ إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الْبِكْرَ عَلَى الثَّيِّبِ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا سَبْعًا، وَإِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الثَّيِّبَ عَلَى الْبِكْرِ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثًا " قَالَ خَالِدٌ: وَلَوْ قُلْتَ إِنَّهُ رَفَعَهُ لَصَدَقْتَ وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ وَلَوْ شِئْتَ قُلْتَ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، وَأَشَارَ إِلَى رِوَايَةِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ مُخْتَصَرًا.
Abu Qilabah (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Sunnah is that when a man marries a virgin while having a previously married wife, he should stay with her seven days; and when he marries a previously married woman while having a virgin wife, he should stay with her three days." Khalid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: If I were to say that he narrated this hadith as marfu' (from the Prophet), that too would be true.
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْعَلَوِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ أنا أَبُو حَامِدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ، نا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، وَخَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الْبِكْرَ عَلَى الثَّيِّبِ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا سَبْعًا، وَإِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الثَّيِّبَ عَلَى الْبِكْرِ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثًا ".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man marries a virgin while he has a previous wife, he should spend seven nights with her; and when he marries a previously married woman while he has a virgin wife, he should spend three nights with her."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، نا حَجَّاجٌ هُوَ ابْنُ مِنْهَالٍ نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، وَحُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: " لِلْبِكْرِ سَبْعَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلِلثَّيِّبِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ ".
Humayd narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): For a virgin there are seven days, and for a previously married woman three days.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، أنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، نا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: " إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الرَّجُلُ الْمَرْأَةَ بِكْرًا فَلَهَا سَبْعٌ ثُمَّ يَقْسِمُ فَإِذَا تَزَوَّجَهَا ثَيِّبًا فَلَهَا ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ يَقْسِمُ ".
Humayd narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): "When a man marries a virgin woman, he should stay with her seven days, then divide the turns; and when he marries a previously married woman, he should stay with her three days, then divide the turns."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، نا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " يُقِيمُ عِنْدَ الْبِكْرِ سَبْعًا ثُمَّ يَقْسِمُ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ ثَيِّبًا أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ يَقْسِمُ ".
Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he would stay with a virgin seven days, then divide the turns; and if the woman was previously married, he would divide the turns after staying with her three days.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ، نا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، نا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا حُمَيْدٌ، نا أَنَسٌ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نا مُعَلَّى هُوَ ابْنُ مَنْصُورٍ نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا دَخَلَ بِصَفِيَّةَ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثًا زَادَ عُثْمَانُ وَكَانَتْ ثَيِّبًا.
Humayd narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went in to Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), he stayed with her three days. Uthman bin Abi Shaybah (may Allah have mercy on him) added that she had been previously married.
