Abdullah bin Salamah al-Muradi said that a man asked Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): What is the meaning of the saying of Allah Almighty: "And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah" [Surah al-Baqarah: 196]? He replied: It means that you enter ihram from your own home.
This has also been narrated as marfu' (from the Prophet) through Abu Salamah from Abu Hurayrah, and there is reservation about it.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah" [Surah al-Baqarah: 196], that "part of completing the Hajj is that you enter ihram from your own home."

Hadith Takhrij«منكر۔ شعب الايمان 5025۔ الكامل لابن عدي 2/ 120»
Ata' (may Allah have mercy on him) said that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed the mawaqit, he said: "Let a man enjoy his wife and his clothes until he reaches such-and-such a place."
This is mursal.

Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let each one of you enjoy his non-ihram state as much as he can, for he does not know what will befall him during his ihram."
This chain is weak; Wasil bin al-Sa'ib is munkar al-hadith (his narrations are rejected), as al-Bukhari and others said. It has also been narrated on this from Umar and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them both), and from Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) it is well known, even though its chain is munqati' (broken).

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) entered ihram from Basrah, and Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) disliked that for him.
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب الحج / 8932
When Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amir bin Kurayz (may Allah be pleased with him) conquered Khurasan, he said: I will show my gratitude to Allah by setting out from this very place in the state of ihram. So he entered ihram from Naysabur. When he came to Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), he blamed him for what he had done and said: If only you had kept to the miqat from which people enter ihram.
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب الحج / 8933
Muhammad bin Ishaq said: Abdullah bin Amir set out from Naysabur for Umrah, having entered ihram there, and appointed al-Ahnaf bin Qays as his deputy over Khurasan. When he had completed his Umrah, he came to Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), and that was in the year in which Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was killed. Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: When you entered ihram from Naysabur, you deceived yourself with your Umrah right then.
