Abu Jamrah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I performed tamattu', and people forbade me. I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he ordered me to do it. I came home and slept, and in a dream someone said to me: "(Your) Hajj and Umrah are accepted." So I came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and told him this. He said the takbir aloud and said: "This is the Sunnah of Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him)," or he said: "the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." He was asked about the sacrificial animal that is easily available, and he said: "A camel, a cow or a goat, or a share in a sacrifice."
