Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that a man broke his fast in Ramadan, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to free a slave, or fast two months, or feed sixty poor people. He said: I do not have the means. Then a basket of dates was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take this and give it in charity." He said: O Messenger of Allah! I do not find anyone more in need than myself. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled until his (peace and blessings be upon him) molar teeth became visible. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Eat it yourself."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a man who had broken his fast in Ramadan "to free a slave, or fast two consecutive months, or feed sixty poor people." Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded it in the Sahih from Muhammad bin Rafi', and he did not say "mutatabi'ayn" (consecutive).
And it is narrated from al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) that it is restricted to "wat'" (intercourse), conveying the words of the Lawgiver, and this is what is worthy of acceptance, for conveying the hadith exactly as it is.
