أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو نَصْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَامِدٍ التِّرْمِذِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِبَّانَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُخْرِجُونَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمُدِّ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُ بِهِ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ أَوِ الصَّاعِ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُونَ بِهِ، يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ كُلُّهُمْ.
Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) says that in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) they used to give zakah with the mudd by which the household measured their daily food, or with the sa' by which they measured their food; all the people of Madinah did so.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، ثنا قَبِيصَةُ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْمِيزَانُ عَلَى مِيزَانِ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ، وَالْمِكْيَالُ مِكْيَالُ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The scale is the scale of the people of Makkah, and the measure is the (standard) measure of the people of Madinah."
