Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that a Bedouin came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Tell me of a deed which, if I do it, I will enter Paradise. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, establish the prayer, meaning the obligatory one, pay the obligatory zakah, and fast Ramadan." He said: By the One who sent you with the truth, I will not do more than this. When he had left, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wishes to see a man of the people of Paradise, let him look at this man."

Abu al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) said that he heard Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: "When you have paid the zakah of your treasure (kanz), its evil has gone."
He narrated it as mawquf (a statement of the Companion), and this is more correct; it has also been narrated as marfu' (attributed to the Prophet) through another chain.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you have paid the zakah, you have fulfilled what is obligatory upon you. And whoever gathers unlawful wealth and then gives it in charity will have no reward for it; rather, its burden will fall upon him."

Al-Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in mursal form: "Whoever pays the zakah of his wealth has fulfilled the right that was due from him, and whoever gives more, that will be a source of merit for him."

Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) said that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this verse: "And in whose wealth there is a known right" [Surah al-Ma'arij: 24]. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In this wealth there is a right besides zakah," and he recited this verse: [Surah al-Baqarah: 177] "Righteousness is not that you turn your faces towards the east and the west; rather, righteousness is the one who believes in Allah and the Last Day, the angels, the Book and the Prophets, and gives wealth, despite love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy and the traveller, and to those who ask, and for freeing slaves, and establishes the prayer and pays the zakah."
This hadith is known through Abu Hamzah Maymun al-A'war, a Kufan, and Ahmad bin Hanbal, Yahya bin Ma'in and the hadith masters after them have criticised him (jarh).
As for what our companions narrate in the ta'aliq, that there is no right in wealth except zakah, I do not know any chain for it, and what I have narrated with that meaning is what I mentioned earlier. And Allah knows best.
