Sayyiduna Aws bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of your days is Friday, for on it Adam (peace be upon him) was created and on it he passed away; on it the Trumpet will be blown, and on it the swoon will occur. So send abundant blessings (salawat) upon me on this day, for your blessings are presented to me." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! How will our blessings be presented to you when you will have decayed?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has forbidden the earth (from consuming) the bodies of the prophets (peace be upon them)." Abu Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) said in another narration: "Among the best of your days is Friday."
