Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever leaves the Friday prayer without an excuse should give one dinar in charity, and if he cannot find it, then half a dinar."

Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub al-Fazari (may Allah be pleased with him), the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), said: "Whoever leaves the Friday prayer without an excuse should give a dirham or half a dirham in charity, or a sa' or a mudd."
Sa'id said: I asked Qatadah whether he attributed it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was unsure about that. Sa'id said: Some of our companions have mentioned that Qatadah attributed it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Qudamah bin Wabarah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever misses the Friday prayer without an excuse should give a dirham, or half a dirham, or a sa' of wheat, or half a sa' in charity."
Imam Ahmad was asked about the hadith of Hammam from Qatadah and Abu al-Ala's disagreement with him in it, and he said: In our view, Hammam is a better memoriser than Ayyub Abu al-Ala'. Imam Ahmad said: Khalid bin Qays narrated it from Qatadah, agreeing with Hammam in the text of the hadith but differing from him in its chain.

Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever deliberately leaves the Friday prayer should give one dinar in charity, and if he cannot find it, then half a dinar."
So he narrated it, and I think he erred in its chain, since the earlier reports agree against him in it; as for the text, it supports the soundness of Hammam's narration. Muhammad bin Isma'il al-Bukhari did not consider it strong, since Qudamah bin Wabarah's hearing from Samurah is not established.
