Umar bin Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Nafi' bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) sent him to Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask him about something that Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) had seen him do in the prayer. He said: I prayed the Friday prayer with him in the maqsurah. When he said the salam, I stood up in my place and prayed. When he went in (to his house), he sent for me and said: Do not repeat what you did. "When you have prayed the Friday prayer, do not join it to another prayer until you have changed your place or spoken, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded exactly this: that a prayer not be joined to a prayer until one changes place or speaks in between." In the narration of al-Narsi: Leave your place or speak.
