Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah, why is it that you seek refuge from debt so often? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a man falls into debt, he resorts to lying, and he also breaks his promises."
