Ata bin Yasar narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he found some boys who had driven a fox into a corner, so he chased them away from it. Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I only know that he said: "Is this being done in the sanctuary of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?"
(b) Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from a man who said: Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me while I was at al-Aswaf, and I had caught a nuhas (a bird). Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) took it from my hand and let it go.
Abu Abdullah al-Bushanji said: The nuhas is a small bird, larger than a sparrow, resembling a lark. The man whom Malik bin Anas (may Allah have mercy on us and on him) did not name is said to be Shurahbil Abu Sa'd.
