Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) performed Hajj, and we reached Muzdalifah at the time of the adhan for Isha or close to it. He ordered a man, who gave the adhan and the iqamah; then he prayed Maghrib and after it prayed two rak'ahs. Then he called for his evening meal; then he gave the order, and he gave the adhan and the iqamah, and he offered the two rak'ahs of the Isha prayer.
Zuhayr made the wording about (the prayers) being shifted (from their time) the words of Abdullah himself; and we have narrated in the Book of Prayer, from al-Aswad, from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), that he did likewise.
