وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، أنبأ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أنبأ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: سَمِعَ عُمَرُ رَجُلًا يَتَغَنَّى بِفَلَاةٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ، فَقَالَ: الْغِنَاءُ مِنْ زَادِ الرَّاكِبِ.
Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) heard a man humming a song in an open wilderness, and he said: Singing is part of the rider's provision for the journey.
