أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَعْرُوفِ الْفَقِيهُ أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، أنبأ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا هِشَامٌ، ثنا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، قَالَ: " كَانَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَمَتَّعُونَ فِي أَشْهُرِ الْحَجِّ فَإِذَا لَمْ يَحُجُّوا عَامَهُمْ ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَهْدُوا شَيْئًا ".
Sa'id bin al-Musayyab (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform Tamattu' in the months of Hajj, and if they did not perform Hajj that year, they offered no sacrifice at all.
