Bayhaqi 7772 — Reports on the effort of one who has little
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أِيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: " جَهْدُ الْمُقِلِّ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said: O Messenger of Allah! Which charity is most excellent? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The effort of one who has little, and begin with your own dependants."
