وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحِ بْنُ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ، أنبأ جَدِّي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا يَحْيَى يَعْنِيَانِ ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِنَحْوِهِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ حَكِيمَ بْنَ حِزَامٍ، حدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ، أَوْ خَيْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَةَ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ.
Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most excellent charity," or he said: "The best charity is that which leaves one self-sufficient."
