Abdullah bin Hubshi (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked which deeds are most excellent. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Faith in which there is no doubt, jihad in which there is no treachery, and an accepted Hajj (Hajj mabrur)." It was said: Which prayer is most excellent? He said: "Long standing." It was said: Then which charity is most excellent? He said: "The effort of one who has little." It was said: Which emigration (hijrah) is best? He said: "That of one who abstains from what Allah has made unlawful for him." It was said: Which jihad is most excellent? He said: "That of one who strives against the polytheists with his wealth and his life." It was said: Which death in battle is best? He said: "That of one whose blood is shed and whose horse is hamstrung."
