أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا تَمِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَنَّ سَالِمًا حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحِيِّ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ حَرْمَلَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The deceased is punished because of the weeping of the living."
