أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ أَوَّلُ مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْكُوفَةِ عَلَى قَرَظَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ قَامَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ ". وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ " أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ.
Ali bin Rabi'ah (may Allah have mercy on him) related that the first person over whom wailing was done in Kufah was Sayyiduna Qarazah bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him). Then Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, praised Allah Almighty and extolled Him, and then said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever deliberately fabricates a lie against me, let him take his abode in Hell." And I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever is wailed over will be punished because of the wailing."
