أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ دَرَسْتَوَيْهِ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ، أُرَاهُ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا: أَنَّهَا أَمَرَتْ بِسَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي ⦗٨٥⦘ وَقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنْ يُمَرَّ بِهِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لِتُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ النَّاسُ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا: " مَا أَسْرَعَ مَا نَسِيَ النَّاسُ، مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى سُهَيْلِ بْنِ الْبَيْضَاءِ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ حُجْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ: أُرَاهُ وَأَخْرَجَهُ أَيْضًا مِنْ حَدِيثِ وُهَيْبٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ.
Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave instructions concerning Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he be brought into the mosque so that the funeral prayer could be offered over him, and the people disapproved of it. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: How quickly the people have forgotten! Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) not offer the funeral prayer of Suhayl bin al-Bayda' (may Allah be pleased with him) in the mosque?
