أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّهْمَاءِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " احْفِرُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ، ⦗٥٦⦘ وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا "، فَقُدِّمَ أَبِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَجُلَيْنِ قَالَ الْقَاضِي: قُتِلَ أَبُو هِشَامِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ.
Sayyiduna Hisham bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Dig the graves deep, make them wide and well, bury two or three in one grave, and put first the one among them who has more Qur'an." So my father was lowered into the lahd before the other two.
